Wedding dance lessons in Calgary

It’s your day, and you want to make your first dance memorable! The highlight of any reception and the image most guests will remember is that of the “First Dance” that’s why many prospective brides and grooms want to give a more polished and graceful performance on their big day.

Some things to keep in mind:

  • We recommend that couples take series of private classes to focus exclusively on their “First Dance”. We can customize a First Dance for you that will make you look and feel great dancing to your favorite song or, we can choose a song from our large library.
  • The amount of classes you’ll need will vary depending how personalized performance you wish to make it. It is best to begin your dance classes at least 3-6-12 months before your wedding this way you can proceed at a more comfortable pace.
  • Private classes are available by appointment only, depending on the teachers availability.
  • Cancellation policy: 24hr notice required.

Get a taste of ideas and a few great moves in our “Wedding Boot Camps”, then perfect them and add your own flare with private classes. During peak wedding season Boot Camps are held monthly Saturday afternoons. The workshops are limited so each couple gets individualized attention and, we cycle through each couple’s first dance song including a short demo for each song. In addition, we have “First Dance” custom bachelorette party ideas which include our ever popular Boot Camp Bridesmaids Routines for bridal parties.

Please note: a minimum of four couples signed up and prepaid a week in advance is required in order to host a Boot Camp. If, for some reason, the Boot Camp that you signed up for does not happen, we will work with you to apply your deposit to either a private lesson or postpone the lesson for another few weeks. Great for parents and wedding parties.

Located in Calgary, Alberta, DC Dance Club is a lovely ballroom style venue which specializes in hosting weddings and other special events. Since 1986, this venue has been offering its facilities as a training studio for dance lessons of almost every style imaginable. There you have the perfect place to dance, eat and celebrate with your family and close friends. We would be delighted to work with you to create a special occasion.

We offer a variety of indoor options for ceremonies, receptions and rehearsal dinners. In addition to weddings, DC Dance Club’s venue is also great for many other types of events. Our comfortable lounge area can hold from 15 to 170 guests and provides an excellent setting for an intimate cocktail and appetizers event or for family and friends while they await arrival of the bride and groom. DC Dance Club’s beautiful ballroom, with gleaming hardwood floors and crystal chandeliers, can fit from 225 to 300 people, depending on the layout.

Our services include catering from an exclusive supplier which offers a variety of catering options such as buffets, plated dinners, cocktail receptions and themed events. Choose from one of the popular menu options or we will work with you to develop a personalized menu. Decorations, entertainment, and planning services are also available. We will work with you to ensure your event is special and memorable. DC Dance Club is a licensed facility and can offer either a host bar or cash/debit/credit bar for your guests.
