DC Dance Club (Dance Connection) Calgarys Dance Studio is proud to celebrate 40 years of dance, music, connection, and community by bringing together dancers, studios, families, and supporters for a very special anniversary celebration.
This event is designed to showcase the incredible talent, creativity, and diversity within our dance community. Dancers of all styles and backgrounds are invited to share their passion, take the stage, and experience the excitement of being in the spotlight.
Thursday, October 15, 2026 – Meet & Greet – Retro Throwback Theme Join us for a fun evening celebrating four decades of memories, friendships, and the journey of dance. Dress in your favorite throwback era and celebrate the music, fashion, and moments that have shaped our dance community.

Studio and individuals may register dancers for multiple routines and Spotlight opportunities. Each registered routine will receive its own performance time and will be judged according to the published criteria.
Registration Deadline: ASAP September 15, 2026 Limited registration available — first come, first served.
VIP tickets Available on first come first serve basis please request information for VIP service
Registration Fee:
$100 + 5% GST per Spotlight routine
Gala Requirement:
*All competitors must purchase a Gala ticket to participate in the spotlight.
$100 + GST per person
Team – minimum 3 people
$35 + GST per person
Youth Competitor Pricing for Gala Event: $45 + GST All Youth must be accompanied by one parent/guardian with Ticket
3 Day Spectator Pass not including Gala All spectators are required to sign waiver and code of conduct
$35 + GST per person

Spotlight has many available ways to stay on the floor with:
Team Elite Spotlight – Judges will pick their favourite Spotlights in specific Genres to Compete at the Gala – example 4 teams of select genres selected. (Not necessarily the top performers, just some of the favorites)
After each full heat completes – we will have a throwback – Retro call back, – genre and music picked out of the “hat” and performers will dance on the floor to the music (10% of score) judges will be looking for fun, effort even if not knowing the dance, have fun, engaging with audience and judges.
